Location
Mountain-Aire Lodge is located on the Red Deer River, just 55 km southwest of Sundre on the Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy 734), in the midst of the majestic world famous Rocky Mountains.
Approximate Driving Times:
• 1 hour west of Olds
• ½ hour west of Sundre on Hwy 27
From Sundre, drive 10 kms west on Hwy 27, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel). Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road across the Big Blue Bridge. We are just after the bridge on the right hand side. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the famous blue bridge.
There are two different ways you can get to us from Calgary:
- 1. Go west to Hwy 22 (The Cowboy Trail), then north to Cochrane. At Cochrane, go west on Hwy 1A to the Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy 940), then 80 km (30 km pavement, 50 km gravel) north to Mountain-Aire; or
- 2. Go north on Hwy 2, turn west on Hwy 27 towards Olds. Go west to Sundre, then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road across the Big Blue Bridge. We are just after the bridge on the right hand side..
From Edmonton or Red Deer:
- 1. South on Hwy 2 to the Olds overpass. Turn west onto Hwy 27. Go west to Sundre, then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road across the Big Blue Bridge. We are just after the bridge on the right hand side; or
- 2. West from the city on Hwy 16 to Hwy 22 (The Cowboy Trail). South to Sundre, then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road across the Big Blue Bridge. We are just after the bridge on the right hand side..
